Canada seal hunt interruped by deadly boat accident

It is not just that animals make the world more scenic or picturesque.
The lives of animals are woven into our very being - closer than our own breathing -
and our souls will suffer when they are gone

-Gary Kowalski, Author of The Souls of Animals-
~
For full report go HERE
The annual Canadian seal hunt was marred Saturday by a boat accident in the ice-covered
Gulf of St. Lawrence that killed members of the boat's crew, officials said.

"There have been fatalities," fisheries department spokesman Michel Plamondon said,
but a precise casualty figure was not available.

Canada set the limit for this year's harvest at 275,000 harp seals,
5,000 more than the previous year.
Some 800 seals were killed Friday, Plamondon said.

Prayers for the families of the dead and prayers that this barbaric custom will end.

The Bunch and the Peeps Easter

Christ has not only spoken to us by his life but has also spoken for us by his death
-Soren Kierkegaard-

I do not share my Peeps!
That Gracie and Timothy tried to take them.
As you can see, it did not work.

Photo Hunters - Metal

~ A home without cats is like a garden without flowers ~

The theme for today at Photo Hunters is
METAL

This is our Rainbow Angel Sisfur, Georgia.
She had to go to The Bridge on April 30, last year.

She was a funny, sweet little cat
She was Napoleon's litter mate.

Mom's boy-bean brought them home with him one day about sixteen years ago.

He said he'd find them a home.
Mom is glad he didn't!

Georgia liked her METAL pan.

So rewarding to help animals

Not to hurt our humble brethren is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough.
We have a higher mission- to be of service to them wherever they require it

- St. Francis of Assisi -

I had the privilege this morning to help save a handsome dog, Henry Harley, from death at an animal control facility here in Georgia.

The person I met pulled him for a rescue person in New Jersey.
He is on his way to a forever home! It will take two days, but he is safe!

We met up with the next transporter, and she had pretty Abigail, also pulled from a kill facility. Something had happened to her head, she had scars and one wound that was not healed.
This sweet girl is on her way and safe!

God Bless all the people that pulled and saved these animals.
So many die, but these will live thanks to them

There was a total of NINE
pups and dogs on this transport!

Napoleon Interrupts Anna Sue's Video

~ As every cat owner knows, no one owns a cat~

23 second video
After three years, Anna Sue is getting more comfortable with the 'older' generation and will sit near me for longer periods of time. The one she fears the most is That Gracie, and their relationship is getting better every day. Gracie enjoyed being the baby for three years, so there was a bit of jealousy.

Since Napoleon's CRF was discovered, he thinks he is the only one that can sit in my lap or around me. Oh so spoiled. Thought I'd get a good video of Anna Sue and her beautiful coloring and those gorgeous whiskers since nobody was around, until Napoleon came by.

You don't have to speak Southern to understand me, but it helps :o)

Help Stop the SEAL HUNT

If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of
compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men
- St. Francis of Assisi -

We can help Nigel Barker and the HSUS work to stop the cruel and senseless seal hunt forever.

Tummy Tuesday ~ Napoleon

You know you're a cat lover

Our Snuggle is here!

~ A world without cats...I dare not think of it ~

Mom bid on and won a Snuggle over at Lisa's No Jumping From Bridge
She sent some green papers and we have a new Snuggle.
Maggie Mae, me (Noah), Bandit and Timothy were very interested!
Since I'm the largest KittyCat here, I get to lie on it first.

The Auction was for CHURCHILL who has some heavy vet bills.
To add to the family's woes, his Mommie is at the hooman vet hospital now!
We hope that Churchill makes a complete recovery and his Mommie, too!

Photo Hunters ~ Party

Life may not be the party we hoped for,
but while we're here we should dance
~

Today the theme for Photo Hunters is

PARTY

Mom lets us party, but does not allow us to drink this
wonderful beverage. She seems to think it's not good for us.
Hummrmph!
I managed to sneak a sip or two of hers, but don't think she'll find out, do you?

Come join TNChick and us at Photo Hunters
and see who else is having a Party!
