Noah and Spring or dirt..

- In the Spring, at the end of the day,
you should smell a little like dirt.
 - Margaret Atwood -

Hello Furriends!
Noah here.. just sitting on the bed..
We hope the front door will open soon and
we will be able to go on our little
screened in porch.
That is about as dirty as we will get,
because we are Inside Only Cats.
Oh well.. we hope all our bean friends
will have fun in the dirt (or garden) soon!

Malachi and the Computer Spider

I never kill insects or spiders.
If I see one in the room,
I pick them up and take them outside.
Karma is everything.
~ Holly Valance

Hi Furriends!
Malachi here, and I like to play with the
Computer Spider!!
Mom Bobbie has to find him on the monitor..
I could do it, but we do not have thumbs, you know.
Tell .. no, ask your Mom to help you play

A Tree On The Fence!

When great trees fall,
rocks on distant hills shudder,
lions hunker down
in tall grasses,
and even elephants
lumber after safety..
  - Maya Angelou -

This was not the greatest tree, but Mom Bobbie is
a tree lover, so she is sad that it fell, although
as you can probably see, it was rotten and weak.
She is very sad that it fell on our fence, but
glad we were not near by!

Anna Sue on Thankful Thursday

I've been on a constant diet for the last two decades.
I've lost a total of 789 pounds.
By all accounts,
I should be hanging from a charm bracelet
 - Erma Bombeck -

Hai Furriends and Beans..
Mom has put me on a diet because I am diabetic, and I am doing just fine so far! We discovered this before my brofur Napoleon had to run off to The Rainbow Bridge. Mom was pretty busy with worry. She is an expert at worry and had two of us to keep her worrier busy. I get an injection of insulin and go to the VET to get tested on my ear. Can you see where they steal my bloods?? It does not hurt, but Mom said it distracts from my beauty. I say it gives me character.

We want to thank everyone for their kind words about Napoleon. We sure do miss him around here. He was here a long, long time. He was 12 years old when I came here in 2004. He was a great cat and is now at The Bridge with his sisfur, Georgia. This is one of Moms favorite photos of them, because she was so tiny and he was so big.. but she did not let that stop her from telling him what for!

We know they are happy and running free and healthy.
Thank you again for all your sweet thoughts for our boy.
We are Thankful for the Cat Blogosphere!!

Napoleon is gone ....

Grief is like the ocean;
it comes on waves ebbing and flowing.
Sometimes the water is calm,
and sometimes it is overwhelming.
All we can do is learn to swim.
 - Vicki Harrison -

1992 - August 15, 2012

I've lost one of my best friends.
I've known him over 20 years.
He was a wonderful cat.
I'll miss him so...
Until we meet again,
g'bye Napoleon,
I love you..

Thursday with Anna Sue

The greatest health is wealth
 - Virgil -

What a shocking thing to happen!
Anna Sue didn't feel well, so Mom took her to the VET.
She is diabetic and has to spend time in the hospital to get better.
We miss her so much, so Mom too a picture of her.
Some of her pretty furs are gone, something is there to get her bloods!
We would appreciate good thoughts and prayers as she goes through this ..
and if you have any extra, Napoleon could use them.
Then, should you have any left..... Mom could use them.
Hope you have a good Thursday,
~ The Bunch

Monday with Napoleon

If the person you are talking to doesn't appear to be listening,
 be patient.
It may simply be that he has a small piece of fluff in his ear
 - Pooh -

Mom said I could not climb to the back of the chair.
It appears I was not listening.
Just had my fluids, and feeling better..
Hope all my furriends are feeling good.
Happy Monday!

Jasmine on Sunday

We are no longer happy so soon as we wish to be happier
 - Walter Savae Landor

Hai Furriends!
Do you know what made our Mom happy?
OK, I will tell you.
A big, cheap inexpensive stack of new washcloths.
Sometimes she is easy to entertain.
Happy Sunday!!

Napoleon on Monday

If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together...
there is something you must always remember.
You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem,
and smarter than you think.
But the most important thing is, even if we're apart...
I'll always be with you.
  - Winnie The Pooh -

Hai Furriends!
A friend said they would like to see some photos of me when I was
younger. That was about thirteen eleventy squillion years ago!
Well, now.. it was a little bit difficult because there are no
pictures of young, handsome me in digital, and no scanner.
 My sister-bean, Rene' said
'Take a picture of a picture!'
Very good idea, and here they are.
Above is my sisfur, Georgia and me when we first got here.
We were pretty old 'kittens' but probably not a year old.

Above is my brofur from a different Mother, Mr. Nicholas.
He was Mom's heart cat and she loved him lots.
She called him her 'old man' .. now 20 years later..
she calls me her 'old man'.
She still misses Mr. Nicholas.

Above you can tell how all the other kittycats would lay with me.
I would bathe and lick them all, and love them.
Miss Emily, Mr. Nichollas and Little Sara are around me.
Miss Emily still wants me to groom her, but I'm a bit too weak
and she knocks me off balance when she head bonks me.

Well, that is me over 20 years ago.
Mom was just a kid then, about 49 years old.
We have been through a lot, my Mom and me.
Wishing every fur and bean a good week!

Mancat Monday with Napoleon

I still have a full deck,
I just shuffle slower now.

Hope you all are having a good Monday.
I'm doing all right. Have started making Mom open several
kinds of food before I decide which one I want, if any.
Right now it seems to be Whiskas in the little flat container,
Of course Mom is out of those.
Happy Monday to all..
~ Napoleon

Malachi and Jasmine on Saturday

Don't worry about avoiding temptation,
as you grow older it starts avoiding you

 Hai.. Malachi and Jasmine here!
We do not know why, but Mom likes to go look at old stuff.

When she looks at antiques, she finds kittycats!

This one reminded her of KittyBoy.
She loved him a whole lot!

We think this is scary looking.
Very.

We thing this is scary-er looking!!
Why is that in an antique booth?

She came home with this 'frig magnet.
We told her it needs an 's' added!
Happy Weekend to all our furriends and beans!

Rest In Peace Lennox.

Anna Sue with fairies?

A rustle in the wind reminds us that a fairy is near.

There must be a lot of fairies around us today because
it is very windy! We hope the old pine trees stay planted.
Happy Tuesday from my pretty tail and me!

"You don't spell it...you feel it." - Pooh”

My walk is getting unsteady..
My balance is not as it was..
My appetite is great!

No rain for us.

Let the rain kiss you.
Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops.
Let the rain sing you a lullaby.
- Langston Hughes

We sure do need some more of this.
When Mom drives by vegetable gardens, they look very dry.
Sadly, no rain is in sight this week.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Eagle - Remembering Uncle Bill

There is nothing in which the birds differ more from
man than the way in which they can build, and yet leave
a landscape as it was before.
 - Robert Lynd -
My Great-Uncle Bill gave this to me many years ago.
Every time I see it I think of him and his wonderful personality.
It also reminds me of Mom and Dad Norfolk, and how much
I have learned from Mr. Ed Clark, The Wildlife Center of Virginia,
and the Norfolk  Botanical Garden Eagle Cam!
I also enjoy helping at Atlanta Wild Animal Rescue Effort
I'll now return the blog back to the kittycats before they rebel.

Napoleon on Friday

The Shadows: Some hide, some reveal.
- Antonio Porchia -
Hai Furriends!
Mom does not know when I was born. Actually, she never knew, as her son-bean brought my sisfur and me into the house twenty years ago. He was going to find a home for us, and asked Mom to just keep us for a while. It has been a long while! My sisfur Georgia left for The Rainbow Bridge in 2007 when she was 15 years old. Since then, I have lost my hearing and my eye sight, but at the age of 20+ I think I am doing fine! Mom is thankful for my sense of smell, because I love to eat and that, of course, keeps me going.

Hope every bean and every fur has a super-great weekend!

Thankful Thursday with Jasmine

Some people talk to animals. Not many listen, though.
That's the problem.
- A.A. Milne -
Hai Furriends..
Mom is Thankful on this Thursday because I am here!
A long, long time ago an internet friend of  Mom Bobbie said if someone would go and get a cat out of an animal control, and meet her, she would take the cat... who was to be destroyed that day. Well, Mom said she would go get that cat.. it was a long, long drive, but Mom does things like. After she got me from AC she had to drive yet another long, long way to meet the lady...whose name was Claire. By the time Claire got there Mom had been holding me and loving on me and I was so content and comfortable to have someone give me attention. I had kittens in the past, and no one cared for me or them.

She tried to not cry as she handed me over to Claire, and managed to hold up until she was alone on the long way back to her home. Claire loved me so much and I loved her.. but one day she had to go to Heaven, it is sorta like a Rainbow Bridge for hooman beans.
I was put outside.
One day Mom Bobbie got a call. Claires husband. He was getting married and wanted to know if Mom wanted to take me, as he was moving.. and I had been kicked outside when Claire left.
Well, YES!!
She didn't sleep a wink that night...
She met him the next day. She is so, so thankful he called.
She hugs me every single day. A lot.
Happy Thursday!

Bob and Patrick on Friday

To solve a problem, walk around.

Mom Bobbie here....
The Boyz (Bob and Patrick) love to walk around

This is how I get them back into their area..
