Jasmine on Tuesday

There is always a lot to be thankful for,
if you take the time to look.
For example, Mom is sitting here thinking
how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt.
- unknown -
*~*~*~*~*
Furiends,
Our Mom left us to do what she called
Antique-ing.
What is that? She is already an antique,
why look for more wrinkles and sags?

There were a LOT of salt and pepper shakers.

A lot!

She found some cute kittycats, but left them there.

Her friend wanted to go to The Varsity.
Oh Yum..
Did she bring us anything?

No. She did not.
Happy Tuesday!

Turtle and Trash and Booth

~ One man's trash...~

Someone told me that cook books sold well. Yesterday I bought 15 and today a few more, some pictured above. Also some Tiara, which has pretty much run it's course around here, but, it's something to put in my booth!

The Kitty-Cat tail and backside belongs to Timothy. I've had him since 2002. He was thrown out of his house by a man after his wife left him, and survived on his own for quiet a while. There must have been a good reason she had to leave Timothy. He is a true lover, nothing pleases him more than sitting in my lap, well, except for food. Timothy enjoys his food
It's beyond me how anyone can dump or kill an animal. I truly hope everyone that reads my blog understands that I cannot tolerate reading about any kind of abuse, any of any kind. If one wants to kill an animal, I'd rather not read about it. There are other solutions.
Oh! Almost forgot the rest of the story..Turtle.

On my search for trash to turn to treasures, I happened upon a turtle in the middle of the road. Managed to pull over, go back and get her. Brought her home and put her deep in the woods on protected property close to a creek. I've rescued many, many turtles, this was my second this year.

More Flower Frogs!

~ Though boys throw stones at frogs in sport,
the frogs do not die in sport but in earnest ~
-- Bion --

As promised, more flower frogs.
The holes that the stems of flowers go into are seen better in this angle.

The large green frog has a texture, and under it there is a wire frog.
These sat in the bottom of the vase instead of on the lip of the vase.

Meowmie, you need to move the big one to the front.
So much help from Bandit, Maggie Mae and Napoleon.
Most of these, and I have about 50, are from yard sales!

Timothy can always be counted on to guard things, especially Temptations,
but he'll settle for Flower Frogs today :)

To see a Really Great collection of flower frogs, see FroggieB's Collection. So many different kinds, I think she has about 600!
Another collector HERE

Thanks for your interest in my Photo Hunters Frogs, and come join us! This weekend it's Cooking/Cooked. I may have a hard time with that one since I don't!

Also, thank you all that came by with kind words for me concerning Georgia.

Yard Sale, Tag Sale

~ One mans trash..... ~

With storms predicted, there were not many sales this weekend. One was at a school and I found a few treasures there for my booth at Nellybee's. My favorite find was in a 'neighborhood' sale. Several houses had items in the yard, on the carport or sidewalk, but this very heavy elephant shelf is my favorite find of the day!
There are two shelves, one being right below the elephants. It's made completely of wrought iron, two feet high, one foot wide. There are hooks below the bottom shelf. The home owner had mostly Africa theme items. I'm still considering keeping this! Only problem is, I have no where to hang such a heavy piece! I'm pricing it high, tho, so it will stay in my booth for a while for me to enjoy!

Holly Hobbie, Snoopy & Woodstock

~ He who has 1,000 friends
has none to spare ~

My aunt will be moving, and asked me if I'd help her clean her attic of things that someone had stored 25-30 years ago, and she'd let me have all the stuff.
There was a lot of non-useable things that had to be thrown away, and not a lot that I could put in my booth. I will be able to put these Holly Hobbie figurines in, tho.
My favorite one is...the Cat! I like the lamb, too.

Yard sales were not productive, being that it was freezing here, with a few snow flurries. Maybe Snoopy and Woodstock will catch someones eye :)

Cool!

Anyone Want A KITTEN?

~ Every year millions of healthy cats and dogs are killed
in shelters and pounds in America.

An unaltered pair of cats and their offspring could produce
420,000 kittens in seven years.

A female dog and her offspring, over 67,000 puppies.

Please spay or neuter your family pet,
let's have no more homeless animals ~

I'm not giving kittens away! Miss Emily and Sara have been a part of my family over ten years.

My heading today is mostly anger at people that let their cats keep having kittens, over and over.

As some of you know, I go to tag/yard/estate sales. I found a nice little cat bed at one this weekend and mentioned I had cats. The woman asked me if I wanted some kittens. Being on a very limited income, I had to refuse. She said she had *two* cats with kittens. She had 12 kittens.

After telling her I could not possibly take any more cats, I told her to be sure to get her cats spayed as soon as possible. She looked at me like my head had just come off my shoulders and bounced over the house and back to my shoulders. She has no intention of spaying her cats.

More cats in shelters, more cats in pounds, more cats on the street to die untimely deaths, more cats to make more cats.

I know I'm preaching mostly to the choir, but at least I got it out of my system, until next weekend.

Yard sale pays off!

~ One man's trash...... ~

Finally found a nice item to sell at my booth! A 1940's McCoy Swan and Reeds vase. If the house is open for the sale, I go to the basement first. Sometimes items are there, like this vase, that the owners do not think is worth selling or is marked cheap.
The weather should be getting warmer in a few more weeks which will make it much better for treasure hunting!

Yard Sale~Tag Sale~Estate Sale

~ One man's trash . . . ~

Still slim pickins' at yard sales, or as some advertise them,
'Estate Sales'
One little dish with blue flowers, a little cat to hold something tiny, three pictures on tile, a brass stamp holder and a little pitcher.
I like the fruit pictures, but need to put them in my booth.
It's hard to let the little cat go, may buy it from myself :)

Yard Sale On A Cold Day

~ Books are the quietest and the most constant of friends
and the most patient of teachers ~

So many cook books
would be such good
teachers,
if only I cooked!

Buttons

~ Button, button, whose got the button ~

Too cold for yard sales, but there was an Estate sale Friday.
My daughter collects buttons, and there were a few old ones there.
Taking a picture of them, I got Noah and his whiskers to the left.

Yard Sale ~ Estate Sale

~ One mans Trash . . . ~

There was a neat hand mixer with a green bowl.
All items were very expensive!
It was also very crowded.

Colorful Toys
Expensive Toys

This was an Estate Sale run by Estate Sale people.
There will be an auction Saturday for everything that is left behind.
