A Tree On The Fence!

When great trees fall,
rocks on distant hills shudder,
lions hunker down
in tall grasses,
and even elephants
lumber after safety..
  - Maya Angelou -

This was not the greatest tree, but Mom Bobbie is
a tree lover, so she is sad that it fell, although
as you can probably see, it was rotten and weak.
She is very sad that it fell on our fence, but
glad we were not near by!

Bob and Patrick on Monday

An inability to stay quiet
is one of the conspicuous failings of mankind.
- Walter Bagehot -

Mom took Bob and Patrick outside their area to get some different grass and weeds to eat. We asked her to not talk because a lot of people may not understand her odd Southern accent, although it is music to our ears when we hear 'Ya'll want some br'fast?'.. Well, she talked, but The Boyz wanted to say 'Hi' to everyone, especially their Special Friend, Daisy The Curly Cat!
Happy Monday!

Two on Tuesday - Bob and Patrick

If you're short of trouble, get a goat.

Patrick: Hello folks! We are just hanging out.

Bob: Hey Patrick, Mom is out in the yard!

Mom: Hi Boyz! Looks like your grass is getting green.

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Furiends Furever Friday

The cure for boredom is curiosity.
There is no cure for curiosity.

-Dorothy Parker-
Long, long ago Patrick and Bob had to stay in
the basement at night because they were so tiny.
This was a sqillion years before Mom even knew what
a digital camera was. During the day they stayed
outside (sometimes they got to come in).
Patrick tried to be taller than me!
They are very big now and have to stay outside.
Bob and Patrick are almost ten years old.
Hope you enjoyed our ancient photos.

Patrick has his turn

If you're short of trouble,
get a goat.

Hey Furiends ..Patrick here.
I think it's my turn to be featured in the blog.
Mom had just taken a picture of
Bob
and decided to take a little video of me
with her camera that has no sound.
Oh, well...no sound is better than nothing.
Happy Tuesday!

Back Home From Our Visit With Daisy

~ If you're short of trouble, get a goat ~
We just had a tasty comic treat!
Not sure if
DAISY THE CURLY CAT
made it for us to eat, but we sure did enjoy it!
Mom said we have to stay in our fence and stop eating Daisy's Comics
Thanks, Daisy

Photo Hunters ~ Creative

~ If you're short of trouble, get a goat ~

This week's Photo Hunt is Creative. Again, I had no photo as I've been a little busy helping transport some great dogs to a rescue group in Ohio.

I brought one of them here so I could take a turtle found on the highway to a place on my property where I release them. It's way back behind Bob (brown/white) and Patrick in the woods where there is nothing to harm them. I took this when they saw the pup.

Thought this might be creative. My Boyz don't like to eat off the ground, so I wired a shelf to the fence to keep the hay dry and off the ground. A bit tacky, but it works for them!

Why I Don't Garden ~~

~ Animals do feel like us..also joy, love, fear and pain
but they cannot grasp the spoken word.
It is our obligation to take their part and continue
to resist
the people who profit by them,
who slaughter them and who torture them ~
-- Denis de Rougement --

My sweet Boyz, Bob and Patrick.
We went walking last week and they enjoyed a little oak tree.

Photo Hunters - Cooked/Cooking

~ You cannot do a kindness too soon,
for you never know how soon it will be too late ~
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson --

No!! I didn't cook my Patrick Goat!
Stepping way outside the box here :)
I noticed last week how sunburned (cooked) his little head is
and have been putting sunscreen on him. It's sorta hard to do,
and he and Bob head-butt so much it just comes off.
Happy Hunting everyone!

Bob and Patrick

~ You become responsible forever
for what you have tamed ~

-- Antoine de Saint-Exupery --

Hey Mom! It's going to be twenty degrees tonight!
Rumor is, you may let us sleep in the basement.
Huh? Huh?
Want me to go get Patrick off the hill?
Huh Mom? Huh?

Photo Hunters - Empty

~ Over increasingly large areas of the United States, spring now comes unheralded by the return of the birds, and the early mornings are strangely silent where once they were filled with the beauty of bird song ~
-- Rachel L. Carson --

Empty?
House Wren nest in a basket on my carport.
Don't know if they got the fur lying on the ground
or
off my goat, Patrick :)

Goats Doing Better!

~ A conclusion is simply the place
where you got tired of thinking ~

Someone asked about Bob and Patrick, so I decided to take them outside their yard for a little walk around. They wouldn't leave the edge of their fence for quiet a while, but nibbled the grass right outside.
Their feet have healed and Patrick (in front) is walking much better.
They are still very afraid/nervous/alert as this picture shows.
The dogs bark at them, but so far they've not gotten back into their yard.

*Paws and hooves all crossed here!*

The Boyz ~ The Weather

~ Be kind, everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle ~

Patrick is feeling better. His pads have healed and he is using his left foot more. As mentioned in another post, one of the dogs got twisted up in her lead. I checked on her and it looks like she may loose her tail because the circulation was cut off by the lead.
She and the other dog are really good dogs, they just like to chase my Boyz, which causes them great pain from having to run.
I hope the dog will be all right.

It has been so cold here, I've been keeping the Boyz in the basement at night. I let them out yesterday for a while, and they were shivering after an hour. I don't like the humid, hot, hot summer heat, but I think my Boyz do. There will be no sun today for them, but hopefully tomorrow the clouds will start to move out.
