Friday without Phillip

If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together.. there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. but the most important thing is, even if we're apart.. I'll always be with you.
- Winnie The Pooh -

Hai Furriends.. Yesterday was a big day here...
Mr. Bobby came by and picked up Phillip
for his trip to Connecticut.
We think it is a squillion and seven miles away,
but Mom Bobbie and Mr. Bobby said
'No, not really'...

He was not entirely ready to go, but it was time....

Mom Bobbie was not entirely ready for him to go...

Bob and Patrick are always there to meet and greet...
or
to say g'bye.....

Mom Bobbie loves you very, very much Phillip.
We know Mom Robin will find you the Best Forever Home
in the whole wide world!

He had a different PTU when he got to the transport place..
He even had his very own number!
It was big and sorta pink.

G'bye Precious Phillip!
Safe travel, God be with your drivers and we
look forward to seeing pictures of you soon at
Mom Robins house!

This is where Mom Bobbie had to spend most of the day.
Just a regular scheduled appointment....
Everything checked out OK, but she said part of her
heart got put in that pink carrier on that yellow trailer,
and is traveling a squillion and seven miles away....

Hope you have a happy Friday..

-Mom Bobbie-
and if I may add...
Fostering is one of the hardest things I've ever done.
I am going to slow down for a couple of months,
partly because of the weather and partly because I need
a break from the heart ache that comes with it.
It's highly likely that Freya (Arizona), Bonita, MacGruber and
Phillip
would have been euthanized if it had not been for rescuers
asking if there was anyone, anywhere that could foster for a while.
I'm glad I had a small part in saving their lives and I have such high
regard for those that do rescue work and adoptions.
They are my hero's ...
If you have a small space in your home and a large place
in your heart, consider fostering for one of the rescue groups.
There are hundreds of them that need help.

  6. We would love to do fostering but are not sure how Cheysuli would take it. We know the Male would not take it well. Ichiro and I--well we deal! We think you are super for taking in those kitties and we so wish we could do more!

  7. Oh Bobbie, do I understand how you feel. In fact I have a little tear in my eye about Philip leaving. It is so darn hard. Fostering is extremely hard but I do realize that it is so important. So big hugs to you Bobbie for taking care of Philip. It does make a huge difference. I don't know if I will do it again but I probably will if it means saving someone's life. Take care.Glad you checked out all right.

  8. We can only imagine the feelings that are running through your head at the moment - pleasure that Phillip is moving on to his furever home and the big hurt in your heart that happens when you get so attached to the foster baby and they move on. You are doing such wonderful care of animals in need while tearing yourself wide open at the same time. Take care.

  9. Even though I know that Phillip is going somewhere pawsome, it still made me a little sad to see him leave you too. Thanks so much for helping him, and the other kitties who have spent time at your place.

  10. You are so blessed to be able to foster and give a little of yourself with each one! Take some time to regroup and nurture yourself.

    Bon Voyage, Phillip!

  11. You are a hero for helping to save their lives. Such amazing cats...we especially fell in love with Phillip.

We have a special place in our hearts for foster moms because it was a foster mom that helped saved Cory and Ellie from certain death. Can't imagine my life without them. We are mostly failed fosters and that is why we have 9 cats. For those we have saved and placed, they all remain in our heart and we do our best to keep in contact with their new families.

  17. Mom Bobbie, you have such a big and generous heart. Before we got to your blog, we were reading about the kitties you've adopted over the years. What beautiful boys and girls.

Phillip will be in good hands. He certainly had enough love to give him a great start on his journey.

    Hugs,

  22. Dear Bobbie,

Phil is a lovely boy. I'm sorry I didn't get to know him for very long, but as I promised, he got adopted into a great home just a few days after he arrived in Connecticut. I hear his family is spoiling him and that he's enjoying relaxing, looking out the many windows into the woods, at the bird feeders and nearby waterfall! Can it get any nicer?

Phil will also have a buddy named Tiger. They will be meeting soon. Hopefully it will go well.

Thank you for doing so much for Phil and for giving him your heart. I know how much it hurts to say goodbye, but you just made more room in your home, and I hope, your heart, to give another fine kitty a chance to live a full life, instead of die in a shelter.

  23. I feel for you all, it is hard to let go of something you had close to you for a while. I always get too attached. But you did him a favor for awhile and let him know he was loved and hopefully he gets a forever home soon. Thank you for coming by.

  24. Yes, that's why we ended up with 10 cats, and quit fostering! It is very difficult to foster!

  26. We wanted to stop by and say thank you for the purrs when I wasn't feeling well. Now I am ok. Our best thoughts to you Mom Bobbie during this time of missing Phillip, it must be so hard for him to be gone after getting attached to him. He is one beautiful Mancat and we will be sending him purrs for him to be very happy in his forever home. It is wonderful that you do the work you do in fostering and help these kitties that wouldn't survive otherwise. Hope you will have a good rest and blessings to you.
