Marilyn's Voice has new spokes-pup!

~ Our treatment of animals will someday be considered barbarous. There cannot be perfect civilization until man realizes that the rights of every living creature are as sacred as his own ~

Marilyn’s Voice, Inc. in Mentor, Ohio and LAPAW (Lake Area Partnership for Animal Welfare) in Lake Charles, Louisiana came together to give a tiny creature a new start.

Kristina Lange, founder of Marilyn’s Voice, Inc. lost her beloved dog, Marilyn Monrow on November 23, 2007 as a result of the abuse and neglect she suffered during her time as a breeder in a puppy mill before being rescued. Marilyn had served as the spokes pup, and Kristina’s inspiration to start Marilyn’s Voice, Inc., a group of concerned Ohioans dedicated to putting an end to puppy mills in Ohio and throughout the United States by educating the public and rehabilitating dogs formerly in the puppy mill system and finding them loving homes.

Two months after Marilyn passed away, Tina La Petite, a 3 pound Pomeranian was rescued from a puppy mill in Louisiana by LAPAW (Lake Area Partnership for Animal Welfare), a group of volunteers who work to provide a second opportunity for homeless, orphaned, abused, and neglected companion animals. Tina La Petite has been lovingly fostered by Sheila Gilley.

“I knew Kristina was the home we were waiting for before I even received her application,” said Sheila.

Tina La Petite has a sad story, living all 8 years of her life in a puppy mill in horrible conditions, and having her teeth removed by her captor with pliers after they rotted.
We thought she had a receding jaw from her teeth being pulled with pliers .. however the vet was in shock today as he realized she has NO LOWER JAW BONE. Kristina will do whatever it takes to make her well and have the most normal life she can. She's syringe feeding her water and VERY WATERED DOWN food. The vet is amazed she's at a healthy weight
Once Kristina saw her on Petfinder.com, she could think of nothing else. She applied to adopt her and was approved.

“I never thought the hole Marilyn left in my heart would be filled,” said Kristina. “I am so grateful to LAPAW for saving this little angel’s life. She will be the new spokes pup for Marilyn’s Voice, but more importantly, she will be my new baby. I love her so much already!”

And, when Tina La Petite gets her therapy dog certification, she is sure to bring love to many more hearts!
