Anna Sue on Thankful Thursday

I've been on a constant diet for the last two decades.
I've lost a total of 789 pounds.
By all accounts,
I should be hanging from a charm bracelet

Hai Furriends and Beans..
Mom has put me on a diet because I am diabetic, and I am doing just fine so far! We discovered this before my brofur Napoleon had to run off to The Rainbow Bridge. Mom was pretty busy with worry. She is an expert at worry and had two of us to keep her worrier busy. I get an injection of insulin and go to the VET to get tested on my ear. Can you see where they steal my bloods?? It does not hurt, but Mom said it distracts from my beauty. I say it gives me character.

We want to thank everyone for their kind words about Napoleon. We sure do miss him around here. He was here a long, long time. He was 12 years old when I came here in 2004. He was a great cat and is now at The Bridge with his sisfur, Georgia. This is one of Moms favorite photos of them, because she was so tiny and he was so big.. but she did not let that stop her from telling him what for!

We know they are happy and running free and healthy.
Thank you again for all your sweet thoughts for our boy.
We are Thankful for the Cat Blogosphere!!

  1. I treated my own diabetic cat for 7 years before she passed from cancer. I also took on several as fosters since. While I would never wish the disease on anyone or any cat, it quite often can be a blessing because of how close you end up becoming. The learning curve is very steep but pretty short. The biggest hurdle for me was learning to test blood sugars at home. If I can be of any support I'm just a few clicks away!

  10. I had a kitty who was diabetic for seven years before she passed of cancer. Testing is pretty easy once you get used to it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_zE12-4fVn8&feature=related
