Photo Hunters ~ Wooden

~ Cat bathing is a martial art ~

This WOODEN table is my favorite place to
take care of my daily bathing.
I have a grand view of the birds and the
WOOD is cool to lie on. It is very old,
and belonged to my Mom's Mom!

If you have time check out the Snuggles for auction for Churchill at No Jumping from Bridge
We have some and they are great!!

Marilyn's Voice has new spokes-pup!

~ Our treatment of animals will someday be considered barbarous. There cannot be perfect civilization until man realizes that the rights of every living creature are as sacred as his own ~
- Dr. David Starr Jordan, American Biologist and Educator -

Marilyn’s Voice, Inc. in Mentor, Ohio and LAPAW (Lake Area Partnership for Animal Welfare) in Lake Charles, Louisiana came together to give a tiny creature a new start.

Kristina Lange, founder of Marilyn’s Voice, Inc. lost her beloved dog, Marilyn Monrow on November 23, 2007 as a result of the abuse and neglect she suffered during her time as a breeder in a puppy mill before being rescued. Marilyn had served as the spokes pup, and Kristina’s inspiration to start Marilyn’s Voice, Inc., a group of concerned Ohioans dedicated to putting an end to puppy mills in Ohio and throughout the United States by educating the public and rehabilitating dogs formerly in the puppy mill system and finding them loving homes.

Two months after Marilyn passed away, Tina La Petite, a 3 pound Pomeranian was rescued from a puppy mill in Louisiana by LAPAW (Lake Area Partnership for Animal Welfare), a group of volunteers who work to provide a second opportunity for homeless, orphaned, abused, and neglected companion animals. Tina La Petite has been lovingly fostered by Sheila Gilley.

“I knew Kristina was the home we were waiting for before I even received her application,” said Sheila.

Tina La Petite has a sad story, living all 8 years of her life in a puppy mill in horrible conditions, and having her teeth removed by her captor with pliers after they rotted.
We thought she had a receding jaw from her teeth being pulled with pliers .. however the vet was in shock today as he realized she has NO LOWER JAW BONE. Kristina will do whatever it takes to make her well and have the most normal life she can. She's syringe feeding her water and VERY WATERED DOWN food. The vet is amazed she's at a healthy weight
Once Kristina saw her on Petfinder.com, she could think of nothing else. She applied to adopt her and was approved.

“I never thought the hole Marilyn left in my heart would be filled,” said Kristina. “I am so grateful to LAPAW for saving this little angel’s life. She will be the new spokes pup for Marilyn’s Voice, but more importantly, she will be my new baby. I love her so much already!”

And, when Tina La Petite gets her therapy dog certification, she is sure to bring love to many more hearts!

Bob and Patrick Sunday NOM NOM NOM

~ If you're short of trouble, get a goat ~

Hey Daisy!!
We almost had you a lizard, but it got away. We'll keep looking!
See Daisy's latest ploy to catch a lizard!
We're on a stroll outside our yard before the rain comes.
We've eaten just about everything except the fence in our yard.
We get coastal hay, alfalfa hay and goat chow and treats, but it's
time for Spring and we want new grass!

In the video Mom is talking too much, and you can see our semi-feral, KittyBoy.
He lets us near him, but not Mom.
He does have a safe place on the carport and deck to eat and sleep.
She wants him in, but still does not want us in!

'bye for now!
Bob and Patrick

Kathy lost her fight with cancer..now we

have the opportunity to help the cats she rescued.

The people that took some 50 cats were promised money from her estate.

Now, unfortunately the executor of Kathy's estate was either not told by Kathy (or possibly was) and it was not specified in her will. The executor is saying it is not possible to give them any money as it would come out of their share.

In this light, we are in hopes that even though not a single adoption resulted from our Internet efforts, that perhaps an appeal to help out this refuge would be easier for people to do.
This couple who runs the refuge do a tremendous job, are totally devoted to their animals and need all the help they can get in keeping things going.
For every donation, great or small a tax receipt will be issued and they are indeed a registered non profit outfit.

Donations would be made out to:

Micheline Cloutier Refuge of The Last Hope

And mailed to:

Photo Hunters ~ Heavy

~ A brook would loose it's song if God removed the rocks ~

Napoleon here~

Photo Hunters this week is HEAVY.
That is what I was before I got CRF and lost three pounds.

I'm such a good cat, I still let the little cats push me almost off the cushion!

I still get fluids and am doing well.
Mom still does not like the needle, but if it makes me feel better, she said she'd keep on helping me live a better life.
