Photo Hunt ~ Bags

Cats do not have to be shown how to have a good time,
for they are unfailing ingenious in that respect.

Malachi - I love to sit in plastic bags!
~~
Napoleon - I love to eat from bags!

Today the Photo Hunt theme is BAGS.

Formerly Feral ~ Maggie Mae

A grandmother pretends she doesn't know
who you are on Halloween.

-Erma Bombeck-
I was in a tree at my Grandbeans house about 13 years
ago. It was raining and I was scared. Mom and the
girlbean got me down, but it took THREE days!
Mom took me to a rescue purrson, but they wouldn't take
me. That meant I'd have to go to the county shelter which
is really animal control. Mom didn't want to do that, so
I've been a happy Formerly Feral since that day!
(Mom is not good at fostering, you know)
Happy Friday, and safe Halloween to everybean and furiend!

Thankful Thursday ~ People that rescue

Think occasionally of the suffering of which
you spare yourself the sight.

-Albert Schweitzer-
Trailer full of puppy mill rescues
~
Time to unload and give to rescue groups.
~
All sizes of dogs that will live without misery of..
~
being bred over and over until they are ..
~
no longer useful to the puppy mill owner..
~
No more living on stacked cages with wire for floor
all of their misery filled lives...
~
Beautiful dogs will go to rescue groups to be
evaluated, made healthy, fostered and go to their
Forever Homes!
I want to thank Katzenwoofers Pet Rescue for
these images. She works tirelessly with her rescues,
and is and has a great success record with adoptions.
Read more about Katzenwoofers HERE!
(There's a donation button if you'd like to help)
We are Thankful today for people that do rescue work,
and help the poor innocent dogs of puppy mills.

Wordless Wednesday~GoD and DoG

I talk to him when I'm lonesome like; and I'm sure he understands.
When he looks at me so attentively, and gently licks my hands;
then he rubs his nose on my tailored clothes,
but I never say naught thereat.
For the good Lord knows I can buy more clothes,
but never a friend like that.

Photo Hunt ~ Yellow River Floods

Rain~
Whose soft architectural hands have power to cut stones,
and chisel to shapes of grandeur the very mountains.

-Henry Ward Beecher-
For Photo Hunt this week, anything goes!
This is the Yellow River in Porterdale, GA
when we had all the rain last month.
This is usually a quiet, easy flowing river.
Our Mom lived there about a squillion years ago.
You may recognize the mill. It was in many
episodes of The Heat Of The Night television series.
(Mom's Dad was in several, the main one 'Sanctuary')

These are images were taken by Jason Cripps,
check THIS out and meet his partner!

We found them on the City of Porterdale site.
The mill, just 40 minutes from Atlanta,
is now lofts, businesses and yummy food places.
Porterdale is busy and growing again!
Ya'll come on down!

Thankful Thursday ~ Timothy

Animals are such agreeable friends -
they ask no questions, they pass no criticisms.

-George Eliot-
Many thanks to Mr. Drew Schulthess, we received a
package of the Worlds Best Cat Litter in the new, fresh
look! We use Worlds Best in one of our litter boxes, and
we can say it is the longest lasting litter we have every used!
You see the old style yellow package behind me? It is not
empty yet! We started using and posted about it HERE.
Everything WBCL states on their website is true!
If you are like us, and can't afford it for all your boxes,
give it a try in one of them. We think you'll like it.

Please remember to go to the Animal Rescue Site.
You can feed an animal in a shelter for just clicking!
I've made it easy, just click the icon below.

The Animal Rescue Site
While you are there, I'd appreciate your vote for
Blind Cat Rescue and Sanctuary in North Carolina.
There will be a tab to click on to vote for them.
A wonderful organization that offers love and safety to
blind cats that have been abandoned or given up.

Well, it's time for me to go nap!
Hope everybean and everyfur has a great day!

Photo Hunt ~ Sports

We didn't lose the game; we just ran out of time.
-Vince Lombardi-
Today's Photo Hunt is SPORTS. We do not play the same
kind of sports that beans play. Ours are much softer.
These were Christmas gifts for us from our furiends
in South Carolina. Noah and Napoleon decided to try
out the new beds, but I am playing 'Swat This Toy'.

Thankful Thursday ~ Napoleon

Cats have enormous patience with the limitations of the human mind.
They realize...that we have an infuriating inability to understand,
let alone follow, even the simplest and most explicit of directions.

-Cleveland Amory-
Mom said she is very thankful that I am still doing
well with my CRF. We do fluids every other day.
I have lost about four pounds, and my eyes do not
work like they used to, but I can still see.

That is pretty good for an almost 19 year old!
This month will be two years since I was diagnosed.
Yep, Mom is thankful for good treatments for
Kidney Failure and for good doctors!

Thankful Thursday ~ Timothy

Bittersweet October.
The mellow, messy, leaf-kicking, perfect pause
between the opposing miseries of summer and winter.
-Carol Bishop Hipps-
We're thankful for the nice weather!
