You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.-Antoine de Saint-Exupery-
I'm the new guy here. Can't say it's by choice, although it seems to be a pretty nice place for a fella that's been living outside for a long time.
I wandered up (maybe I was tossed out of a car? Maybe my people moved away?) last summer and the Lady started feeding me. She even put me
HERE on her blog.
I'd spent some nights here, but most days she thinks I went into the woods. I had at least two 'arguments' with other critters, and have a torn ear for proof! Along about then, I decided to let the Lady pet me...a little. She had made me a nice bed in a big chair on the carport.
As Spring came around, she decided I needed to make a trip to the v-e-t. This, of course, was not in my plans, as there are many lady cats down the street that I must occasionally visit. The Lady started feeding me in a big carrier, and next thing I knew, one day last week I was being handled by perfect strangers and then in The Lady's house! She put me in an extra room, but by morning I had escaped through a heat vent into the basement. The rest is a very long,
very expensive story that I won't go into because I'd rather just forget.
I have taken over That Gracie's cat tree and The Lady, who from now on will be known as Mom is going to try to find her, or maybe me, another one. She will have to save her green papers because of the afore-mentioned expensive story that I didn't go into.
My name, as soon as she saw me last year, was KittyBoy, and it seems to have stuck.
If any of The Bunch comes into the front room, I just turn my head and let them sniff. I do not hiss or spit or growl. I ventured out of the front room yesterday, and just about everyfur was all right with that. The boycats are very friendly. The girlcats are not as interested in me. Most of them already know me a little bit through the screened in porch and doors. I'm just on the other side now.
I'm a nice boy and I have a forever home. Now I just need a cat tree of my own, and Mom said she's working on it, but I should be patient it may take a while!
