Photo Hunters ~ Sweet

~ As anyone who has been around a cat for

any length of time well knows,
cats have enormous patience with
the limitations of the human mind ~
--Cleveland Amory--

I brushed Napoleon and wanted a picture of him before he got unfoofy, but when Miss Emily saw him she just *had* to jump up there with him, and as usual, he gave her some kisses.

He is one of the Sweetest cats I've ever known :)

Toesie Tuesday for Noah

~ Our perfect companions never have fewer than four feet ~
-- Colette --

Noah is King of the Cat Tree when he wants to be.
He gets on the top hammock, which is almost too small for him and washes his face.

He came here as a kitten. I was going to keep him for a few weeks. That has turned into a few years, and I would never give him back...although the original owner said I could keep him.

He's a 20 pound love bug.

Maggie Mae

~ Cats are absolute individuals, with their own ideas about everything,
including the people they own ~
-- John Dingman --

Maggie Mae has an eye infection. We've been going to the vet every day for them to put medicine in her right eye. Most folks could do that at home, but Maggie Mae is very strong and hefty, umm, I mean ladylike *grin*
I can't hold her still, open her eye and put the medicine in all while she wants nothing more than to scratch me with those claws in those pretty little feet.

Rest In Peace Mona

~ There is no creature among all the Beasts of the world which hath so great and ample demonstration of the power and wisdom of almighty God as the Elephant ~
-- Edward Topsell --

I met Mona the elephant by visiting cat blogs. I found Lisa, author of No Jumping From The Bridge and discovered a great animal lover!
I 'borrowed' Mona from her and joined in the plea to move her to the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee. Sadly, Mona died today.
Rest In Peace beautiful girl. I am so very sorry you couldn't live out your life in the lush hills and lakes of The Sanctuary.
***tears***
for Mona and the elephants still suffering in zoos and circuses.

Oh No! Bandit has a growth in his mouth...

~The cat sees through shut eyes~

Bandit has been looking thin. Took him to VET and found he has a growth in his mouth. Looks like it's on his gum, not on/under tongue.
After blood work comes back, he will have surgery Thursday.

Can I ask for purrayers for my boy...
and prayers continue for Pickle Boy in Alaska.

Successful Animal Transport

~ Dogs have given us their absolute all. We are the center of their universe.
We are the focus of their love and faith and trust.
They serve us in return for scraps.
It is without a doubt the best deal man has ever made ~

-- Roger Caras --

What an amazing thing this Internet is! At message board I visit, one of the members was trying to make a transport for two dogs. It would go from Alabama to Ohio. One member took a leg (Thanks Michelle!!!) and there were several100+ mile legs left to get volunteers for.

Not knowing exactly where my blog buddy lived, I emailed her to see if she knew anyone or could help with this huge trip. She jumped right in and took two legs, round trip!!That is 450 miles that took Ten Hours!
Do go see those precious pups pictures atNo Jumping From The Bridge along with a couple of videos and read a little bit about them.Yes indeed, this Internet is a pretty neat thing!!!
Thanks a Million, Million Lisa!

My shoes do not have heels. Having Rheumatoid Arthritis, I wear the most comfortable shoes I can find. You *know* you are not going to get by without seeing one of my furkids! This is Timothy, a rescue from the streets after a divorce. He's a great cat!

This Is Mine!

~ Weather means more when you have a garden.
There's nothing like listening to a shower and
thinking how it is soaking in around your green beans ~
and may I add tomatos :)
--Marcelene Cox--

My daughter and her hubby have a small garden.
It's a quiet a distance from their house on another part of their property.
Their water supply, which is a well, is not close to the garden.
They fill gallon jugs at home and I fill cat litter containers at my house.
We're keeping everything alive, and praying for rain, like many others.
This is one of my two tomato plants :)
I'm thinking Fried Green Tomatos

Tummy Tuesday with Toes

~ You are my cat and I am your human ~
-- Hilaire Belloc --

This is Noah. I'm keeping him for a few weeks for my niece.
That statement is many years old!
She couldn't take him back, and that's OK with me.
Noah is a grand, wonderful boy.
He has a rather large tummy, as he weighs about 20 pounds.

Katrina Animals Still Need Us

~ Life is as dear to a mute creature as it is to man.
Just as one wants happiness and fears pain,
just as one wants to live and not die,
so do other creatures ~

-- The Dalai Lama --

There is so much said about how many are still left on the street…is it five, ten, twenty or forty thousand animals? Cats always outnumber the dogs, and the feline species has proven the better survivor having an innate ability to attune their metabolic rate with what the environment has to offer in the way of food and drink. Make no mistake, nature takes a cruel toll as only the strongest will survive unless rescued.

Rescue work immediately after Katrina was frequently difficult mostly due to the terrain to be traversed… newly created inky waterways blocked by downed cables, gnarled electrical lines, massive tree branches, and the invisible graves of drowned autos just a few feet below the surface. Today rescue is ...Continue reading ARNO..
